April, May, June 2011               Eleven Abstract photographs (Boudoir Series) over three juried group shows at The Arts & Letters        Club of Toronto, three photographs on display during Doors Open on May 29.

 October 2010                Publication of An Evening of Poetry. In this story, written as a letter, two oddly matched poets

                                                             share a journey and a reading.  The subtext explores the nature and power of poetry.

September  7 to 30, 2010                 Solo show: Wide Silence, Round Sound:

                                                              Lyrical Conceptual Watermedia Paintings Based on Text

                                                              Great Hall, The Arts & Letters Club of Toronto, 14 Elm Street

                                                             

                                                              This series explores the interplay of regularity and variation, of

                                                              rigidity (the grids that surround us) and softness. Each painting is based

                                                              on a phrase written by the artist. These words form an integral part of the

                                                              image; the phrase and the image become a meditative whole.

 

                                                              Materials include watercolour, acrylic mediums, and permanent markers

                                                              (some smudgy, some not). applied in several layers on watercolour paper. The

                                                              paintings are 30" x 22" and smaller. See images.

I grew up creating things in a household of sewing and knitting. Through my adult life I have taken art courses

at various institutions including the Sheridan College School of Crafts and Design and, most recently,

the Toronto School of Art.
